Me: My dad is half Lebanese, yeah.
Cashier: [huge smile] I'M LEBANESE!!!!
Me: Oh, that's really neat!
Cashier: So you know any Arabic words?
Me: [Literally the only Arabic word I know is "ass."] *nervous chuckle* Not many, no.
Cashier: [says something in Arabic, looks at me expectantly]

Does anyone have...
…any thoughts on asexuals* (especially but not exclusively cis, hetero ones) being classified as/calling themselves queer? I think it’s a complex issue and it needs to be handled delicately because everyone’s self-identification is valid, but it’s important for groups who are otherwise apparently privileged not to co-opt identities/claim oppressed or minority status...
